Fans are defending Elliot Page amid “transphobic” tweets about the actor who replaced Ezra Miller as The Flash in the DC Extended Universe.
Amid uncertainty over Miller’s future as Barry Allen/The Flash after a slew of controversies — including allegations of “grooming” an 18-year-old from North Dakota — Page’s fans are demanding Umbrella Academy actor to take over the role from Miller.
Alluding to the allegations against Miller, one person wrote on Twitter: “I want to take this moment to say that Elliot Page would make a great Barry Allen in case there is ever a need, you know, for whatever reason to cast a new Flash.
Another wrote: “I would be wild if Elliot Page was cast as the Flash. Casting Elliot Page in all the superhero movies, he’s so good in them.”
“Elliot Page would f*ck as The Flash,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while another wrote: “Let’s swap [Miller] and pretend Elliot Page was the Flash all along.”

However, these calls were not unanimous.
While some users insisted that Grant Gustin, who played the character on the CW lightningshould reprise the role, others posted anti-trans tweets and argued that the studio should not go with Page, who came out as a trans man in December 2020.
Page’s fans rushed to the actor’s defense.
“I think it would be an incredibly inspiring image for the trans community if Elliot Page was cast as the Flash.

“He is a great actor and has a knack for playing quick characters. I don’t think his build matters. We can have a little Flash,” one person wrote, arguing that the actor’s physical attributes are not that important.
Miller’s standalone Flash movie was previously slated for a 2022 theatrical release, but Warner Bros pushed the date back to June 23, 2023 as part of a larger reshuffle of the studio’s films.

Then in April, news broke that Miller was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after allegedly throwing a chair at a woman in Hilo, Hawaii. Shortly before that, Miller was arrested for disorderly conduct at a karaoke bar in the same city.
More serious allegations against the troubled Hollywood star followed.
The parents of an 18-year-old from North Dakota accuse Miller of grooming and “psychological manipulation, physical intimidation and endangering the safety and well-being” of their child, Tokata Iron Eyes, since Iron Eyes was 12.
There has been a court ever since “unable to locate” Miller to serve them with a protective order against Tokata. The actor’s Instagram account has also been deactivated.
A source close to Miller said Variety that the star hopes to resolve the allegations against them at some point, but they have “decided to privately focus on their health and healing” first.
Calls for Miller to be removed from the DC Extended Universe also arose after a video surfaced online in 2020 purportedly showing him choking a fan.
Miller is reportedly unlikely to continue as the Flash after the 2023 film.
