Focusrite’s Vocaster is a brand new line of podcasting kits for beginners and professionals

The recently announced RØDECaster Pro II mixing console is being followed by another elegant piece of podcasting hardware, this time from Focusrite, the creators of the excellent USB audio interfaces Clarett and Scarlett.

Vocaster is a brand new line of audio tools designed for the booming podcasting market and other audio content creators. With Vocaster, podcasters and other content creators have everything they need to start producing sound in the quality you normally expect from a professional recording studio. Even better, setting up Vocaster units takes a few seconds and is easy to use.

The Vocaster series consists of two separate interfaces: Vocaster One and Vocaster Two. These two units are also available as studio packages – Vocaster One Studio and Vocaster Two Studio. Coughing and sneezing are a danger of podcasting, and to handle these minor interruptions, the Vocaster interface has a Mute button that mutes the microphone until the coughing or sneezing stops and is ready to restart. Meanwhile, Loopback makes it easy to stream pre-recorded segments, such as opening, closing videos, interviews, jingles and background music, to the show, all from the host computer.
