EXCLUSIVE: Patrick J. Adams (Suits) and Karine Vanasse (Cardinal) were cast in lead roles in an English – written adaptation of the time travel drama Plan B for the Canadian CBC.
Adaptation of the French-language drama Radio-Canada, created by Jean-François Asselin and Jacques Drolet and set in Montreal, Plan B is considered a highly conceptual, compelling and intimate psychological drama about a man who is desperately and tirelessly seeking to save his relationship – and therefore his entire world.
Adams plays Philip, who finds out how to go back in time, which gives him a chance to save his relationship with the love of his life Evelyn (Vanasse), his law firm and a dysfunctional family. However, he soon realizes that even the smallest choice has implications – however uncontrollable, as unexpected – for his life and the lives of others.
Quebec KOTV, which produces the original series, is connected to the adaptation and will start production this summer before the premieres at CBC and a streaming service CBC A gem in the winter of 2023. The writers are Asselin, Drolet and Lynne Kamm.
Adams is best known for playing as US lawyer Mike Ross, who did not graduate from college Suits between 2011 and 2019, the role that earned him the Screen Actors Guild nomination. He recently made his Broadway debut in Richard Greenberg, which was nominated for Tony’s Revival of Take me out and starred as the original Mercury 7 astronaut John Glenn in the first National Geographic script for Disney +, The right thing. Another TV role on Sneaky Pete, luck and Black Orphanwhile his roles on the big screen include feature science fiction and a selection of the Toronto International Film Festival 2019 ClaraTodd Phillips comedy Old school and contestants at the Berlin Film Festival 2009 Rage.
Vanasse is an award-winning actress who played as detective Lisa Delorme in the CTV drama Cardinal between 2017 and 2020, for which she won the Canadian Award for Best Actress in a drama series in 2019 and 2020. She also starred in the drama ABC Mr. Am and appeared in three seasons Revenge on the same network and in the upcoming CBC series Bones of Crows. Her film titles include Denis Villeneuve Polytechnic, Malek, Lea Pool Free me andAnd at worst, we get married.

News of the new series comes at a time when CBC is presenting its 2022-23 program at the Upfronts event in Canada today.

On the front line of actual entertainment, Canada’s Ultimate Challenge is an eight-part competition series from Insight Productions owned by Boat Rocker and The Gurin Company.
The reality format sees the entire country in a giant obstacle course and six extraordinary coaches, including Olympic sprint winner Donovan Bailey, guides and mentoring teams from everyday Canadians on physical and mental challenges specific to the place in a unique competition structure.
Things The British Stole, meanwhile, is a six-part show by Wooden Horse, WildBear Entertainment and Cream Productions and is co-produced with ABC in Australia. It is based on the ABC podcast of journalist Marc Fennell, who also launched CBC Podcasts last fall.
The show is based on the fact that the British Empire stole many items as it grew around the world, and today many of these items are placed in noble institutions throughout the UK and elsewhere. The series tells a not very polite history behind these subjects.
Acquired international series include the BBC’s spy drama Ridley RoadUKTV comedy travelogue Traveler and the third series of the drama StudioCanal and Fox Networks Group War of the Worlds.
