Do you remember the Letv brand? The brand gained good popularity in the Chinese market a few years ago thanks to a number of Letv smartphones. These devices were quite good for their price and brought an aluminum surface and good chipsets Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek. The devices were later renamed the LeEco brand and we even saw the rise of some LeCool smartphones in collaboration with Coolpad. However, a small smartphone manufacturer fell into limbo due to poor administration. There have been countless stories pointing to a terrible administration that has bankrupt society and the smartphone business. Apparently not everything is gone. Last year, LeEco rose from the ashes with some TWS wireless headphones, and Letv also launched a smartphone. It now introduces a new smartphone called the Letv Y1 Pro. It is worth noting that it does not come close to older LeTV smartphones, such as Le 2 and its variants.
Letv Y1 For “inspired” design
Letv Y1 Pro is a super-budget smartphone that looks like an iPhone 13 knockoff. Honestly, it’s super nostalgia. Everyone who has experienced the clone wars in the Chinese market will remember how many knockoffs we saw on the web. Even mainstream Chinese companies once copied one or two elements from Western brands. Now the story is different and big Chinese brands like Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo and Honor have basically shattered the small brands that used to make knockouts. Letv is definitely trying to reach those who wanted to have an iPhone, but can’t pay for it.
Specifications and features
Letv Y1 Pro comes with a similar design, but at a super low price. Letv Y1 Pro will try its luck in the Chinese market for just 499 CNY (75 USD). It’s been a while since the last under 100 and you may be wondering what sacrifices have been made to reach this price point. Letv Y1 Pro has a super-cheap Unisoc T310 processor under the hood. This chipset is modest with 1 x ARM Cortex-A75 core clocked at 2 GHz and 3 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. Obviously, this is a smartphone only for 4G. Interestingly, it contains up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. There is also support for micro SD cards.
The Y1 Pro boasts a 6.54-inch LCD display with HD + resolution of 1,560 x 720 pixels. The device weighs approximately 208 grams and measures 164.3 x 77.7 x 9.5 mm. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor in sight. The company really wants to follow Apple and offers Face Unlock. The device has a modest 5MP selfie shooter and a main dual camera. There is an 8MP shooter and an unnamed AI lens. The phone is powered by 4,000 mAh batteries. It has a USB Type-C port, but there is no sign of fast charging. One of its biggest disadvantages is Android 11 and it’s hard to hope for an update from a company that still has to prove itself.
Prices
The device is available in Star White, Midnight Black and Star Blue models. The base model comes with 4 GB of RAM, but only 32 GB of storage for $ 75. There is also a medium version with 4 GB + 128 GB for 699 CNY or $ 108 and another with 4 GB and 256 GB, which costs 899 CNY.
