The Wild Update is another big update that comes to Minecraft. Following a spectacular two-part Caves & Cliffs update, Mojang now brings The Wild Update to further enhance Overworld with new biomes, mobs, blocks and more.
Wild Update was first unveiled during Minecraft Live 2021 and fans have been waiting for update 1.19 ever since. About six months after the Caves & Cliffs Part II update, Mojang is now finally ready to launch The Wild Update.
Mojang has announced the release date of update 1.19 and here is everything players need to know.
Minecraft 1.19 The Wild Update comes to Nintendo Switch and many other platforms
Minecraft is available on a wide variety of platforms and devices. When adding new features, Mojang must make sure that they work flawlessly on all platforms and in both editions, Java and Bedrock. And after 1.19 entered the pre-release phase, Mojang officially unveiled the launch date of The Wild Update.
The Wild Update arrives at the Nintendo Switch on June 7, 2022, around 4:30 p.m. BST / 8:30 p.m.
Not only will it be released on the Nintendo Switch, but it will also be released on the same day for all supported platforms. In earlier times, the release date on the consoles differed from the official date. However, these days are a thing of the past, as Mojang is constantly releasing major updates for Bedrock and Java Editions on all platforms on the same day.
What’s new in The Wild Update?
Rockers may not be aware of all the exciting features that The Wild Update brings. This update adds a new and improved swamp variant called mangrove swamps. Players will find mangrove swamps flooded with mangrove trees with tall roots and mud blocks.
Deep dark caves is the second new biome to come with The Wild Update, and it’s the third cave biome to be added to Minecraft. The deep dark caves are located in the deepest strata of the Superworld and are home to haunted blocks of snakes, monstrous guardians and vast ancient cities.
Sculk blocks coming in The Wild Update officially add vibe to Minecraft. These blocks have the ability to detect vibrations and generate Redstone signals in response. Specifically, players must be careful around sculk shriekers, as they can spawn a steward if they run too often.
However, Warden is not the only crowd in The Wild Update. Players will also find melophilic paths and ribbed frogs here. Allays also comes with update 1.19 after more than half a million players voted for it. These flying ghosts will collect whatever item the player gives them.
Frogs are useful for growing frogs, which is a new light source that comes in update 1.19. Interestingly, the frogs are the first crowd to have a special version for the baby, the tadpoles; Frogspawn blocks laid by frogs eventually hatch and form tadpoles.
Along with many new blocks and items, the update will also include the first craftable music disc made from disc fragments found in ancient cities. Some interesting items in the update that players will be able to get are a recovery compass, a chest boat and a goat horn.
