Briedis is a three-time world champion and represents a huge obstacle for Opetaia to overcome.
The Cruiserweight division often struggles to get a lot of attention, especially since it is one weight class below the heavyweights, who are often in the spotlight.
However, foxsports.com.au understands that Briedis and Opetaia will buck that trend when it comes to their respective paydays.
Briedis is expected to make just under $1 million, while Opetaia will make well over six figures for his troubles.
It is also understood that the relevant wallets are all inclusive.

AUSSIE STAR SECURES FIRST TITLE OF THE NIGHT
Taylah Robertson was the first Australian of the night to secure a world title when she defeated Venezuela’s Yoselin Fernandez for the IBF Youth Super Flyweight title.
Robertson dominated Fernandez throughout the bout before the referee stopped in the final round to end the fight.
It was a stunning start-to-finish performance for the 24-year-old, who improved to 6-1.
KIWI STAR’S WILD WALKOUT IS STUNNING AGAIN
David Nyika had the best escape from the George Kambosos vs. undercard. Devin Haney when he disguised himself as Boba Fett and was at it again on the Mairis Briedis vs Jai Opetaia cards.
The Kiwi wore a Mulan-inspired outfit to continue his fascination with all things Disney, but there was nothing childish about his performance.
Nyika survived an early barrage from Louis Marsters in their cruiserweight bout to come back and end the fight via TKO in the 2nd round.
It was a brutal body shot that brought Marsters to his knees and prompted the referee to step in and wave the fight off as Nyika improved to 4-0.
